Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device when you visit a website. They may allow a website to recognise a device, remember choices, maintain a login session, protect against fraud, understand how the website is used or measure advertising.
This policy also covers technologies that perform similar functions, including:
First-party technologies are set through the getlostforever.com domain. They may be created by us or by a provider operating on our behalf.
Third-party technologies are set or accessed by another organisation, such as Google, Meta, Stripe, YouTube or VBOUT. Those organisations may process information under their own privacy notices.
We may use cookies and similar technologies to:
We use Axeptio as our consent-management platform. When you first visit our website, you may be asked to accept all optional technologies, reject all optional technologies or choose individual categories or services.
Optional analytics, advertising, marketing and external-content technologies are intended to remain disabled unless you give the relevant permission.
Technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a feature you request, protect the website, maintain a session, process a payment or remember your privacy choices may operate without optional consent where permitted by law.
You can change or withdraw your choices at any time by selecting the Cookie settings link in our website footer. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful.
These technologies are required for the website to function, remain secure or provide a feature specifically requested by you. They cannot normally be disabled through our cookie-preference tool.
They may be used for:
These technologies help us understand how visitors use the website, which pages are most useful, where visitors arrived from and how we can improve our content and technical performance.
We may use Google Analytics 4 for this purpose. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish users and maintain session information. These technologies are used only where the relevant consent has been given.
These technologies help us measure advertising, understand conversions, build audiences and show more relevant advertising.
We may use Meta Pixel and related Meta business tools for this purpose. Meta may receive information about visits, page views, form interactions, conversions, browser details, device information and advertising identifiers when advertising consent has been granted.
We use VBOUT for newsletter forms, email marketing, marketing automation and, where enabled, website engagement tracking.
The VBOUT website tracker loads from www.vbt.io and may process information about pages viewed, referral sources, browser or device details, session identifiers, form interactions, conversions and engagement. The VBOUT website tracker is treated as optional and should not load until the relevant permission has been given.
Some pages may contain content supplied by external platforms such as YouTube and Google Maps. Loading this content may allow the external provider to receive technical information, including your IP address, browser details, device information, page URL and interaction data.
Where practical, we use privacy-enhanced YouTube embeds and contextual consent placeholders so that external content does not load until you choose to activate it.
Some links on our website are affiliate links. A link may contain a referral, campaign or publisher identifier so that the destination provider can recognise that you reached its website through Get Lost Forever.
The destination website may set its own cookies after you leave our website. Its own privacy and cookie policies will apply. Where an affiliate technology stores or accesses information on your device while you remain on our website, we will seek consent where required.
| Service | Category | Main purpose | Typical information involved | Typical duration |

| Stripe | Strictly necessary when payment features are used | Payment processing, authentication, fraud prevention and checkout security. | Payment-session identifiers, IP address, browser, device and transaction information. | Session-based or as determined by Stripe for security and fraud-prevention purposes. |
| Google Analytics 4 | Analytics and performance | Measures website use, traffic sources, sessions and content performance. | Cookie identifiers, page views, interactions, device and browser details, approximate location and referral information. | _ga and _ga_<container-id> default to two years, subject to browser limits and our configuration. |
| Meta Pixel | Advertising | Advertising measurement, audience building, conversion tracking and remarketing. | Page views, events, advertising identifiers, browser, device, IP address and conversion information. | Varies by Meta technology, browser and configuration. |
| VBOUT | Customer relationship and marketing | Newsletter forms, email marketing, engagement tracking, lead scoring and marketing automation. | Browser or session identifiers, referral source, page activity, form interactions, contact and campaign engagement. | Session-based or as configured by VBOUT; exact identifiers may vary. |
| YouTube | Videos and external content | Displays embedded video content and measures interaction with the player. | IP address, browser and device details, page URL, player interactions and Google identifiers. | Varies according to Google, browser status and whether the visitor is signed in. |
| Google Maps | Maps and external content | Displays interactive maps, locations and related Google content. | IP address, browser and device details, page URL and map interactions. | Varies according to Google technology and browser configuration. |
The precise cookie names, storage keys and expiry periods may change when a provider updates its technology or when we change our configuration. The most current list of optional services is shown in our Cookie settings interface.
Google Search Console may be used to understand how our website appears in Google Search. Its verification and reporting functions do not normally place visitor-tracking cookies through our website, so it is not generally presented as an optional cookie service in our banner.
We may use Google Consent Mode to communicate your choices to Google tags. Depending on your selection, consent signals may indicate whether storage and processing connected with analytics or advertising are granted or denied.
Google Consent Mode does not replace our obligation to obtain consent where required. Our non-Google services, including Meta Pixel and VBOUT website tracking, must be separately controlled so that they do not load before the relevant permission.
Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies through their settings. You may also be able to block all cookies, block third-party cookies, delete cookies when the browser closes, clear local storage and website data, or use private browsing.
Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent account, security, payment or other requested website features from working correctly.
Browser-based privacy signals are not implemented consistently across all services. Where supported by our consent platform and applicable law, we may recognise signals such as Global Privacy Control. You should still use our Cookie settings tool to confirm your choices.
We may update this policy when we add or remove services, change how a technology is used, or respond to legal or regulatory developments. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
